LAND IN CASTELLAR:

LandArt Atelier:

The one-week LandArt courses take place in the Natural Park of the Cork Oak Forests (Parque Natural de los Alcornocales) in the province of Cádiz, southern Andalusia.

The starting point is Castellar de la Frontera, a medieval castle village above a reservoir, embedded in evergreen forests and views of an uninhabited and exceptionally beautiful mountains.

The nature park, with an area of 1700 square kilometers, has the world's largest contiguous cork oak forest. Since it was only cultivated extensively, its originality in terms of flora and fauna has been preserved. It is home to a large number of plants and animals as well as some relic species from the Tertiary. Numerous rivers, streams and rock formations give the area a diverse landscape. Together we get to know the different habitats that the nature park of the cork oak forests offers us on hikes: rustic cork oaks, bizarre rocks, interesting roots, perforated stones, clay, "elephant cemeteries" and mystical elf baths. This stimulating environment means that there are no limits to our imagination. A wide range of natural materials makes it easier for us to create LandArt works.

Castellar de la Frontera has ideal conditions to escape stimulus overload, permanent fast pace, constant mobility and ubiquitous consumption possibilities and to leave all forms of stress behind. Car-free, without shops, with natural stone houses and flower-adorned alleys, it offers complete peace and relaxation at night and reinforces a natural and essential way of life. Every day you have the opportunity to come to reflection and inner contemplation after the creative excursions. Castellar deepens the LandArt experience and rounds off the course with beautiful moments such as swimming in the clean lake and stylish dinner with a panoramic view of the mountains.
