Bolonia

Paths to happiness: sea, land art, hiking, flora and fauna (1)

On this trip, the focus is on the design of LandArt works. Every day we hike to places with a special charisma, either by the sea or in the neighboring forest, where we create land art with preparation and site and material related topics, the sound of the waves always in the ear.

Über die Veranstaltung

The initial idea of this special trip is that we spend a lot of time in nature (the car journeys are no longer than 40 minutes) in order to get involved with nature, to feel it through the land art, to become creative and present.

The beach of Bolonia, which this year received the award "most beautiful bay in Spain", and the hinterland with its extensive and wild cork oak forests are ideally suited for this.

This stretch of coast of the "Costa de la Luz" is hardly populated and, in addition to its intact coastal vegetation, is characterized by two large shifting dunes. Sandy beaches alternate with rock formations. Inspirational materials such as stones formed by the sea, rocks with holes, washed up pieces of wood and bizarre parts of plants can be found in abundance.

As usual, you will hike to places with a special charisma in order to concentrate on creating thematic LandArt. This week the hikes are a maximum of 2 hours a day. The focus this time is on the element of water and the proximity to the African continent. Explanations of the flora and fauna enrich and deepen what you see every day.

More information about Landart tours organized by "Landart Andalucia" on the website "www.landart-andalucia.eu".

A visit to the NMAC sculpture park with the site-specific project "testigos" (witnesses) by artists of international standing is another highlight of the trip. The slow-art tour that we experience there also prepares us for the last day of the trip, when we design LandArt with a view of Africa on an ideal beach for finds.

PROGRAM:

DAY 1: Arrival in Málaga and group transfer at 5pm to our houses on the beach, welcome drink and dinner together. For flights after 5pm it is recommended to arrive one day earlier and spend the first night in Málaga.

DAY 2: Today we get to know our studio, the beach landscape, by hiking and receive an introduction to the special marine fauna. With mindfulness and perception exercises in pairs, we explore natural materials. Picnic and first work. Total walking time 2 hours.

DAY 3: Design in the wild hinterland of Bolonia: circular hike, pure walking time 2 hours, two climbs of short duration. After location-specific introductory exercises, we design our own work of art with the materials that this special environment offers us. This is accompanied by advice and possibly technical tricks from our tour guide. The development of our works is also recorded photographically so that everyone has a lasting memory of the ephemeral works of art.

DAY 4: Free day: Opportunity to marvel at the unique Roman ruined city "Baelo Claudia", which is located in Bolonia, to stroll through the idyllic old town of Tarifa, to take the ferry to Tangier in Morocco for a day (passport required ) and enjoy a touch of 1001 nights or just take a quiet day at the beach.

DAY 5: Today another hike (circular hiking trail: 2 hours, a gentle descent and an ascent is to be expected) to a fantastically beautiful and secluded bay. The LandArt theme relates to the dynamics of the sea. We are still looking forward to a picnic today and comment on our works at a joint vernissage.

DAY 6: Visit to the NMAC Sculpture Park near Vejer, which is located in a species-rich pine forest. The permanent exhibition shows works by internationally known, contemporary artists whose works relate to the border area between Africa and Europe. As part of a slow-art tour, we take a closer look at their site-specific art. In the afternoon the opportunity for an individual LandArt work.

7th DAY: After yesterday's preparation and some creative "pushes", we are building a beach found today, to which we hike, with a "view of Africa". During dinner together, we review the journey.

DAY 8: We enjoy another breakfast together, say goodbye to the Atlantic and then leave for departure (or an individual extension).
