Diana Heil

 artist, tour guide, environmental activist

I was born in 1970 in Hofheim am Taunus and after graduating from high school I studied geography and art education (main class plastic and sculpture) at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

After graduation, I followed my intuitive call to work in nature. I started as a study tour guide at "Studiosus" with a focus on hiking trips in Andalusia. There I learned to love the beauties and expanses of the different landscapes and deepened my botanical knowledge.

In 1997 I moved to Castellar de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz in Andalusia. From now on I lived in a medieval castle village in the middle of a fantastic nature park and began to restore a small house. That was the beginning of an alternative and natural life.

This is where the first work with found objects was created. Exhibitions of sculptures and mobiles with natural materials in galleries in Andalusia and Catalonia followed.

My husband and I spent many years as an environmental activist. As part of environmental education, I conducted my first land art courses.

From 2008 I led trekking trips in the Sierra Nevada for "Wikinger Reisen".

In 2014 I began to design my own travel concepts that focus on the connection between nature and art. I wanted to give people a travel experience where they can awaken their own creativity through nature.

I currently live with my daughter in the backland of Tarifa, work as a freelance visual artist, accompany day tours, creative workshops with natural materials and my LandArt weeks.
